On February 07, 2018, Bain put out a report called “Labor 2030: The Collision of Demographics, Automation and Inequality”. It’s detailed and long, but it puts forth an incredible amount of data and information towards the future business and cultural landscapes. It’s an informative read if you want to see the future of design and the opportunities and the needs that will open up. The report doesn’t implicitly mention design. However, if you understand that design thinking methodology is a human-centered, problem-solving process that sits at the intersection of business, technology, and culture and that it’s creativity, research, testing, and iteration processes allow for a more adaptable and agile business culture, then you know that this is the future of design.
